NC Resources Free community help — North Carolina Find help

About this directory

What this is

NC Resources is a free, simple directory of community help — food banks, shelters, diaper banks, rent and utility assistance, transportation, healthcare, and more — across North Carolina. It exists to make it easier for people in need (and the people helping them) to quickly find a real address, real hours, and a real phone number.

It is built and maintained by a family in Durham whose loved one works in social services — they kept seeing referrals delayed because the available directories were stale or hard to use, so they made this. No organization, no donations requested, no ads, no tracking, no login. Use what's helpful. Share it freely.

Important: Information on this site was gathered from each agency's own website and from a range of public referral directories, food-bank partner networks, county human-services pages, and other agency APIs. Agency hours, phone numbers, and program availability change. Some entries may already be out of date by the time you read this. Please call before you go.

What this directory is NOT

Privacy

This site does not require an account. It does not log searches. It does not use cookies. It does not have ads. It does not run analytics that track you across the web. Your phone calls and directions go directly through your phone — they don't pass through this site.

Refresh schedule

The full directory is rebuilt periodically by re-pulling from public referral directories and re-checking each agency's website. The "Last checked" date on each row tells you when that specific entry was last verified.

Terms of use

This directory is provided as-is, with no warranty of any kind. We try to keep entries current, but agency hours, phone numbers, addresses, and program availability change all the time, and some entries here may already be out of date. Always call the agency before going.

NC Resources is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by any of the agencies listed. We do not provide direct services and we cannot accept referrals or applications. For 24/7 referrals dial 2-1-1; for emergencies dial 911.
